is because it combines one of my favorite bands (SUPERGRASS OMG!) with one of my favorite dramas, because really, this song is a PERFECT summation of Hanazakari no Kimitachi e. The likely lads, eh?

and as for this: I only watched Brilliant Legacy in patches, and fast forwarded through a lot of the crying and screaming,, yeah, that was not a lot of show left over, despite the epic 28 episode order and just like I prefer Shuji/Mai in Buzzer Beat (THE ONLY REASON TO WATCH), Jun Se is my favorite part of BL (not that the cast wasn't spectacularly good at evoking the reactions they were meant to evoke, and the leads are great. It's just....LOOK AT HIS SAD FACE. AND HIS PRETTY EYES. Kdrama makes me shallower than a bucket of shallow, I tell you.)

don't believe me about the crying and screaming? )

Man, after Atsuhime's amazing ratings, NHK really is going full
throttle with the all-star casting business. Shun and Shirota, together
again! And of course, we cannot forget Really Good Looking Guy from
Tokyo Drift.

Sent to you by saffron via Google Reader: More "Tenchijin" cast members
announced via Tokyograph on 9/8/08 NHK has revealed a few more cast
members for its 2009 taiga drama, "Tenchijin." Among the roles named
were Shun Oguri (as Ishida Mitsunari), Kyoko Fukada (as Yodo-Dono), Yu
Shirota (as Sanada Yukimura), and Yusuke Kamiji (as Kobayakawa
Hideaki). The previous cast announcement can be found here.

The show, which stars Satoshi Tsumabuki, starts in January.

More pictures of the Hanazakari no Kimitachi e SP have leaked their way onto the internet.

a few thoughts )

When I came home from work today, my order of the Making of Hanazakari no Kimitachi e and Miss x Match books were waiting for me. Both of them were smaller than I expected, but chock full of pretty pictures. Miss X Match happens to be the sapphilicious photobook Maki did with her friend (and fellow Sweet Power talent) Meisa Kuroki, and it's got a pretty nifty pedigree attached to it - the photographer is Kishin Shinoyama, who's famous for his photobooks/shoots concerning the female form.

When I looked through the photobook, I finally understood how some comic book geeks can get about bagging and sealing up their precious issues, to keep it archive quality - because really, these photographs are beautiful. The paper's a bit thinner than I'm used to for photograph books, but I suppose that's to be expected, it's a paperback after all.

Anyway, because I want to keep my photobook in a book shape and not smash it out all of its binding (unless I decide to buy another copy just for scanning purposes), I scanned the very last image in the book.

another side of Maki you may not have expected )

huge screencaps of some of my favorite highlights of the Hana Kimi finale. Be warned, these are huge. )
