[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714 just informed me Code Blue 2 started, and is watching it out of a strange car wreck fascination. I ceased to care about Yamapi past Kurosagi, so I haven't really watched any of his shows. This is how our buddy system works. I watch shows she won't touch and vice versa. And sometimes, we just both go for the bad decision. An executive fail, if you will.

[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: OH, 23 SECONDS IN
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: AND FIRST ERROR.
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: CHEST X RAY FLIPPED BACKWARDS
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: OBVIOUSLY THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG.
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: BECAUSE YOU'RE LOOKING AT IT THE WRONG WAY
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: THE WRONG WAY
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714:OH NO.
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: OH NO, YAMAPI.
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: WAIT.
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: THAT'S NOT A PERM.
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: OH NO.
[livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: i said so, didn't I.
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: WHAT ARE YOU DOING.
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: OH, STOP THAT.
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: WHAT ARE YOU DOING.
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: OH MY GOD, GET AWAY FROM THE BABY
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: GET AWAY FROM THE BABY
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: YAMAPI NO
[livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: GOD, JAPAN.

Me, I find very little to get indignant about jdramas' (except the usual plot, story issues) creative license issues regarding my profession and interests, other than the occasional, "Gee, I wish they'd stop portraying English teachers as slutty, shiftless, drunken slobs." (and this is only a small handful of shows, mind you, and not all in one character)

The happiest of birthdays to the other half of the hivemind, my favorite letter of the alphabet, D! [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714

One of these days we'll get together again and have cake and mock the deserving.

;)

first off: WTF, Japan, continued: Japan Pays Foreign Workers to Go Home with the caveat THAT THEY NEVER EVER COME BACK TO WORK IN JAPAN, EVER, AND THAT INCLUDES YOUR CHILDREN. SAYONARA, SUCKERS.

Secondly, I am trying to aim for a more serious, thoughtful review of Smile, now that there are subs for it, out by this weekend, and why I have problems with the premise, and why I think it's both a step forwards and backwards, and can it avoid the heavy handed AT social commentary/pandering/exploiting trap? Or as [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714 said succinctly last night, "WHY DOES JAPAN HATE THE BROWN MAN?" and also, "Matsujun couldn't pass for HALF OF ANYTHING."

Please bite your tongue on the obvious rejoinder on that comment.

Thirdly, for fans of the Littlest Hobo, pori-chan.com has episode summaries/previews translated as the official website goes live every week, so if you want to know what's going to happen next (mild spoilers/plot outline), just visit there while waiting for GiriGiri/TimeLess fansubs.

Fourth, there is no fourth, only Black Adder Goes Forth.

(also, Maya Miki's husband is SMOKIN' HOT. As if you needed further proof that she is queen of EVERYTHING.)

Now, I am off to make a summer fruit trifle.

ETA: fifth, I may or may not have spent ten minutes in Sanseido Books this afternoon looking at pictures of Kanata Hongo and his TEENY TINY DOG NAMED L'AMIE and making incoherent, appalled noises at how cute boy and dog were.

So I'm getting over a mild case of OMGWHYDOIFEELSOAWFULANDCRAMPYIWANTTODIEANDORVOMIT, while watching the mercury climb here in Southern California, but a few fevers and nosebleeds aside, I'm almost back to normal.

Have downloaded the subbed version of Smile, will watch it later - I'm going to watch L: Change the World in a few. [livejournal.com profile] fivethreerin, I got the little postcard saying that I need to pick up your package at the post office! Which I will be doing so tomorrow, full of DELIGHT and joy.

Also got a surprise tee-shirt from [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714, because the hivemind likes to be dressed in snappy tees at all times, naturally.

some scans/projects I'm working on )

So, on finding out the news about Maki's new spring dorama here, D and I naturally went into crazy discussion mode

IT'S LIKE SHE'S ANNA NICOLE! )
