If anyone has the UK edition of High Fidelity, could they please clarify this quote for me? Is it, "What came first --- the music or the misery? Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?"

I remember it being pop music, but in the American edition I own, it's just music.
