kitsune714 just informed me Code Blue 2 started, and is watching it out of a strange car wreck fascination. I ceased to care about Yamapi past Kurosagi, so I haven't really watched any of his shows. This is how our buddy system works. I watch shows she won't touch and vice versa. And sometimes, we just both go for the bad decision. An executive fail, if you will.

Me, I find very little to get indignant about jdramas' (except the usual plot, story issues) creative license issues regarding my profession and interests, other than the occasional, "Gee, I wish they'd stop portraying English teachers as slutty, shiftless, drunken slobs." (and this is only a small handful of shows, mind you, and not all in one character)

first off: WTF, Japan, continued: Japan Pays Foreign Workers to Go Home with the caveat THAT THEY NEVER EVER COME BACK TO WORK IN JAPAN, EVER, AND THAT INCLUDES YOUR CHILDREN. SAYONARA, SUCKERS.

Secondly, I am trying to aim for a more serious, thoughtful review of Smile, now that there are subs for it, out by this weekend, and why I have problems with the premise, and why I think it's both a step forwards and backwards, and can it avoid the heavy handed AT social commentary/pandering/exploiting trap? Or as kitsune714 said succinctly last night, "WHY DOES JAPAN HATE THE BROWN MAN?" and also, "Matsujun couldn't pass for HALF OF ANYTHING."

Please bite your tongue on the obvious rejoinder on that comment.
