The less said about my life currently the better, but at least fandom remembers to keep me happy (and this is the fandom lj, after all.)

Why I'm still PISSED at the producers and screenwriter of Kurosagi: The Movie (WASTE OF TIME), because they totally squandered THIS, THIS COMPLETE ADORABLENESS for the sake of putting Yamapi in a few hundred terrible wigs 'disguises'. YOU TOTALLY FAILED THAT TIME, JAPAN. (Don't think I haven't FORGOTTEN.)

and also:

NEW FACE OF ROMANCE.

My standards? They have completely gone on holiday - because when I actively look forward to how awful Koishite Akuma is going to be, and yet, I rub my hands in glee in anticipation? You know I have no standards left.

There might be fic, guys. I KNOW I AM TOTALLY HORRIFIED.

My god. Meisa's single has taken up rent in my brain and WILL NOT LET GO. I can't say I'm complaining though. As electropoppy/fauxr&b goes, there are worse songs, you know? And this is a fun song.

I forgot it was daylight saving time until late this afternoon when I came home from Kinokuniya - and promptly panicked. Where is my hour? Time seems to be moving too fast.

Kurosagi premiered in Japan, and well, there's been a ton of promotion for it in the last few weeks.

On the newest NEWS PV - prettiest GAP ad ever.

Clearly the OTP in the Kurosagi film is Kurosaki/Scarfy.

And also, it could be Pi's punishing schedule, flying back and forth from Hawaii to Japan, but he's looking a little....eh, while Ryo is manifesting hot from every pore. Plus his diary entries lately - oh, Tiny Angry Osaka Man, ILU.

WHERE ARE MY PICTURES FROM THE KUROSAGI SNEAK PREVIEW.

Yuuta, please don't lose any more weight - you're rocking the scruffy graduate student who might need a haircut but looks cute regardless, and I'd hate to see all that pretty go down "Needs a Sandwich IV" way.

The official Kurosagi the Movie trailer has been uploaded onto youtube, and you can also download a copy of it using this. Which will save it to your HD as a .flv file, which can be opened using GOM player.

My backup harddrive died on me, Seagate sent me some bullshit automatic response, and I was SO ANGRY, but.....

My very last post would be after seeing said movie, but that's not going to happen for another year or so, so placeholder. Video proof that Yamapi finished shooting Kurosagi, his all-up face, and pictures of veteran actors that are appearing in the film.

I'm not going to talk about it anymore until there's more articles/spoilers posted, a translation of the website, etc. Element of surprise battling out element of disappointment, you see.

In other news, Maki is making a guest appearance on Galileo, Fuji's hit mystery/science/romance drama for episode 6. I have no idea if she's the victim or the perpetrator, but I'm hoping for the latter, because evil, (or let's face it, even slightly bad) Maki should be fun.

Kurosagi: the movie has finished filming.

Cheers to [livejournal.com profile] pichan_daccha for the translation.

Oguri Shun in Caligula. O___O

The official Kurosagi movie website is out, and purveyors of angstcakes will eat up the promo poster for it. Me? I'm still worried/annoyed about the remarkable lack of Tsurara promo pictures (we've got bad guys, THE CAT) so spare me your emo tears, Kurosaki. I veer from cautious anticipation to self preservation fueled apathy (because guys? The potential for SUCK in this movie? That could also happen)

I love Kurosaki, I do. But I really love Tsurara and them, together. She doesn't die in the manga (see previous entries), but that doesn't necessarily mean anything for an adaptation. I know, I'm just wearing my pessisimist hat, heart of stone shirt, and I hate it when other people harsh my mellow for something on pre-emptive hunches. So...no more.
bluelovesorange: (shotamao)
I went to Kinokuniya tonight with a friend, and brought home quite a haul (manga, magazines, pencil board, calligraphy pen). My friend also let me borrow two issues of Pinky magazine (I wanted to thumb through it for hair style suggestions) and I saw quite a few pages that beg for scanning - oh Yamamoto Yusuke, you are stealth gorgeous. I foresee the rest of the weekend scanning images among other things - I also stopped by Dick Blick's, and went on a window shopping spree. There's an H&M in old town Pasadena, along with Famima's, which means I never have to go to Santa Monica again....well, except for the beach.

bluelovesorange: (prelude)
Scans of Yamapi in Kurosaki mode. I know it's going to be mostly about revenge and swindling, but really, Japan - where the hell is Tsurara (she doesn't have to be in frame with him, just a separate promo picture for her)? If she dies in this movie I'M GOING TO BE SO ANNOYED

Well, at least Maki Horikita keeps herself busy. Is it just me, or does Mickey Mouse look extraordinarily smug there?

I'd watch out, Maki. That Minnie can cut a bitch.

If you heard a spoiler about a rain scene in an anticipated movie, and as a mind conditioned to expect certain things from Rain Scenes, these are your options:

a) Passionate confession of love - with kissing, and or crying involved
b) Someone coming back from the dead/long lost but now found
c) A coldly calculated show-down, with guns
d) dramatic flash back scene combining one or all of the above
e) Utter total rejection and silent tears washed away by the cruel unforgiving rain
f) swords and VENGEANCE SHALL BE MINE.

Screencaps of Yamashita Tomohisa's new Kurosaki hair. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYYAYAY, THANK GOD IT'S BACK TO BLACK. (I'm also dying my hair back to black, as the upkeep of purple highlights is a bitch)

I wonder when Maki's going to start filming - I know she's wrapping up her role on Hana Kimi, and her new fall one-shot special is supposed to be airing September 22, but....Kurosaki/Tsurara back together again! And it feels so good!

I have not forgotten about all my Kurosagi fic, btw - D's certainly heard enough about it, and the last thing I wrote was here.

[livejournal.com profile] birdofpray09 wrote a lovely fic - Mission: Impossible.

*surprise, a post about something other than Asian dramas. No, I haven't read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows or whatever it's called, yet. Yep, still.

Yesterday, me and my friend L went to Kinokuniya, and then to Sanseido Books. I was on the lookout for the magazine with the Maki photoshoot, and I found it at Kinokuniya. I immediately snatched it up, along with some new Monokuro Boo stationery and paid for it. As soon as I was in L's car, I opened the crinkly plastic wrapping on the magazine, and flipped it open from

spoilers for volume 9 of the Kurosagi manga )

I'll try to have the recap for episode 5 (so fanservicey, so filler-y, very little happens and yet.....) up tomorrow night.

Meanwhile, Maki has video logs up at her website too! And why is she so cute? It is some kind of NEFARIOUS PLAN.

Got a Suitcase, Got Regrets

lyrics )
bluelovesorange: (meh)
I think I am going to prefer the Japanese version of Hana Kimi now purely out of spite, because it's only 3 episodes into a 12 (11? I thought it was 12 but now it's 11 again?) episode arc, and people are still doing the tired old apples and oranges, or in this case peaches and plums comparisons. The show hasn't even finished setting up all the plot points (yes, there are plot points amongst ALL THE CRACK) how can anyone say it's automatically inferior, when the big picture hasn't even been painted yet?

Also because Maki is the cutest thing in the world, and I will fight you on the playground with swords, if I have to.

Anyway, besides going OMG! over Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, I am still writing my Kurosagi pieces. I've temporarily scrapped my plans for the OTP that set fire to all other dorama OTPs before it (well in my biased world view) epic post about Kurosaki/Tsurara, because I would need to rewatch it again and cap more screens of their combined gorgeousness, but since I've been so happy and sunshiney about the pure liquid crack that is Hana Kimi, and Mizuki/everyone, it's going to be a shock to go back into the stark noir that is Kurosagi's universe, as a lot of the shipping glee is in deciphering the nothing that happens between Kurosaki and Tsurara. The words they don't say to each other. The hug that really wasn't (and man, that burns my cheese, as much as it makes me go GYAAAAAAHHHHH, WHY IS THAT HOT?) The silences that reveal nothing and everything between them. In all probability, the DVD for the Kurosagi movie won't show up until mid 2009 (unless nice fans put up a transcript of the film before hand), so that is another year and change to find out the what if between Kurosaki and Tsurara delivers anything like the imaginary scenarios fans have been dreaming up.

And I've decided that Yamapi has a curse on him so he's not allowed to get any onscreen because he is probably fighting off the female attention with a stick offscreen, so I'm not holding out much hope. It's the law of karmic balance or something.

It's okay. Toma will probably end up running off with Maki anyway.

But yes, back to fic plans - numbers factor in the fourth future (Five, Three, and possibly One), Kurosaki as a Kdrama (You know how it ends), and I think I want to write 'in between' scenes for Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, but honestly, I'm just having so much fun watching the show and writing the screencap 'reviews' (they're not really reviews, more like snark illustrated), that I don't feel that there needs to be 'filler' fic. But who knows?

There's also project 7 dates, crazytown fic, and other things that need polishing.

And now I'm going to finally go and watch Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, as I'm coming into work tomorrow night to sell the LAST BOOK EVER (PLEASE JK ROWLING, NO MORE IN THE SERIES) and I need to feel something other than supreme boredom over the entire state of affairs. And the movies are good springboards for that.
bluelovesorange: (d-blame)
ETA: Yeah, this was supposed to be on 07.07.07, but that didn't quite happen.

You know, what I wanted to post here today was a picture, a picture of Kurosagi and Tsurara on their wedding day. Because yes, he's messed up, obsessed with revenge to the exclusion of almost everything else, and she desperately wants to save him from himself, and damn it, those two crazy kids are in love with each other, even if Kurosaki would rather cut out his own tongue then admit to it, and Tsurara has sleepless nights over words she should have/shouldn't have said, and they're not conventional in any sense - but I can't help but think that despite all of that, Kurosaki's got a traditional streak running through him a mile long and sooner or later, he'd ask The Question.

And since today has been dubbed unofficially The One Day where (nearly) everyone gets married because of the lucky connotations, I thought, how perfect. Tsurara would be wearing a red cheongsam (because occasionally I like to give a shout out to my Chinese roots) with the gold phoenix (ooooo symbolism. Also, really pretty - I love wedding cheongsams.) and Kurosaki would be wearing his standard black, except he would have a red tie that matched Tsurara's cheongsam. And they would be hugging each other, REAL HUGGING and not pseudo barely touching enough to drive the ANGST FACTOR through the roof, and Tsurara would be looking over her shoulder and smiling, and Kurosaki's chin would be resting on top of her head and he would have his eyes closed and there would just be this peaceful look on his face, and now I am incoherent to the point of tears, because my drawing ability has degenerated to nil and I can SEE THIS IN MY HEAD. And it's so frustating that I can't make the image in my head correspond to the lines on the paper!

Never mind the 'entirely too emotionally invested in fake people and their fake epic love' dilemna - hell, I still carry a torch for Laurie/Jo from Little Women, and we all know how that turned out.

So I couldn't do my picture on today's date. But then, Kurosaki doesn't believe in luck.

So I wrote a little scenario for their (fake) wedding day.

Yeah, I know. Just go with it.

once I knew how to talk to you )

Yesterday I went to the first day of Anime Expo 2007.

Hana Kimi promotional round up - brand new pictures of Maki as Mizuki can be found over at d-addicts here. Cue inevitable, "OMG WHY IS SHE SO CUTE?" I've uploaded some screencaps of Maki, Shun doing their bit for the dog and pony show over at my HK scrapbook. Toma (Nakatsu) has been posting nice behind the scenes posts over at Tomapi Rant (google plz), and if you can sit through an hour or so of Maki and that guy from Nana (the slutty one, no, the other one) eating things, a video is up here.

A mv for the Taiwanese version of Hana Kimi here. I would like to state for the record, Wu Zun (or Chun)'s arms are what make this video for me. Tattoos! So not Sano! But who cares? ARMS.

In JUST THREE DAYS, the Japanese Hana Kimi will air, and then next week will be my golden week. If the internet connection gets fixed in time, that is. I'm at the library right now.

And because I'm at the library, and I don't want to abuse this public resource, I can't post my giant, the moment I knew that This Was Going to Be MY OTP post on Kurosagi, and why I love Kurosaki and Tsurara so much, illustrated with screencaps, and flailing!, but I uploaded the screencaps, at least. That scene. Frame by frame, practically.

Just think Margaret Atwood's poem "Variation on the Word Sleep," the usually awful Gwyneth Paltrow's being oddly sweet and endearing and tragic lines to Luke Wilson's character in The Royal Tennebaums about having to be secretly in love with each other all our lives (or something similar), and you know what? It doesn't have to be epic. It just is.

Maybe it's not just your lips that are vexing...maybe it's all of you!

TITLE: Interlude (part of No Good Deed) 1/1
Fandom: Kurosagi
Disclaimer: TBS own the rights to the drama, Natsuhara Takeshi owns the manga, no copyright infringement is intended
Notes: A portion of Interlude was posted here.
It is as always, all [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714's fault. The song that inspired the title is Interlude by Timi Yuro, though most people would be familiar with the Morrissey and Siouxsie Sioux cover. Both versions found here.
Summary: Who knows if it's real or just something we're both dreaming of? Even Kurosaki knows a fairytale.

what seems like an interlude now )
bluelovesorange: (light sky)
Even though she is far away enjoying herself (as she should be), and there has been no contact between us, I would still like to state for the record, that this? and the upcoming future posts, are all [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714's fault. ALL OF IT.

In my usual non-linear way, I'm posting an interlude from the longer story, which is basically the premise that the "K" in Kurosagi really stands for Korean drama, and you know what that means: death and CRYING. However, Kurosaki and Tsurara are definitely not related, not even as cousins. For my non-kdrama friends, Korean drama is like Lifetime movies of the week for women, only with better production values, better acting (most of the time), and a lot more cancer. And mafia. And really improbable shoes for the women. And often lasting longer than two hours.

But on to the interlude!

FIC: No good deed (title of entire story, not just the interlude)
Notes: Absolutely [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714's fault. Except perhaps even she wouldn't have thought I'd go this particular route.
Summary: Even Kurosaki knows a fairytale or two.

you want a fractured fairytale? )
