I woke up this morning to the unpleasant smell of mushrooms stewing. Well, that's what I discovered after falling out of bed, clutching my nose. I thought some of my socks had gone off or something, and I hadn't checked the laundry hamper yet - but when I went into the kitchen, there was the evidence, merrily brewing away, STINKING UP THE ENTIRE HOUSE.
*mutters darkly*
They're the lovely squashy, black capped large mushrooms, not the gross, white speckly off-putting ones you get in the regular grocery stores, but still, they smell awful.
I've written exactly one sentence for my final Asian lit paper - the all encompassing, "what did you learn in this class" paper. So far, I've managed not to insult the rest of the class and cast disparaging looks in the way of the lecturer. Grrrr. I can't help but feel completely cold and bitchy this morning, the long weekend has messed up my internal clock, and the knowledge that tomorrow is Monday is not helping.
I spent 40 dollars recently on art supplies. ART SUPPLIES. You want to know why there's the cliche of starving art students? It's because they can't pay for their goddamn supplies without giving up something else, namely, food...central heating....soap.
I'm teaching myself pen and ink techniques, and so far, it's going slowly. I haven't stabbed myself accidentally with my Speedball or spilled ink on white sweaters, so that's good. I'm contemplating hand creating cards again this year, but what's probably going to happen is that I'll labor obsessively on one card, then run out of time for the other ones, and just stuff bits of glitter on a card and mail it to my near and loved ones.
*cough*
But I didn't do that for any of my cards last year, you know.
That glitter was spray on, for starters.
