So, yeah, I ordered an ipod a few weeks ago, and it arrived about three days ago. My mp3 history goes as follows - I absolutely did not want to fall onto the apple Ipod Ilife Icult bandwagon - so I shopped around, and I decided I liked the cut of Creative's jib. Or whatever. I bought a Creative Zen Micro. That was about two years ago. It's still in perfect working condition, but I needed a bit more room than the 5gb allowed me, so I thought it was time to upgrade. Amazon.com was offering the Zen Creative Vision W for around 276 dollars at Christmas time, but if you purchased an audible account, there would be a 100 dollar deduction. I thought, hey, I like Creative, and the reviews looked positive. Well, to make a long story short, the reason I didn't end up getting a Creative was because Amazon outpriced it and astonishingly, the Apple Ipod 30 GB Video was actually cheaper than the Creative Zen Vision.
There were things I did not like about Apple (aside from the aggressive marketing campaign as it being some kind of LIFESTYLE choice and not just technology): you couldn't replace the battery as easily as you could with Creative (When I bought my Zen, Amazon even threw in an extra battery), Apple was decidedly cheapass and crafty in shipping its parts separately - a power adapter has to be purchased separately to go with the free USB cable, whereas Creative threw in the power adapter/USB cable in the packaging, and if you even breathed on the Apple wrong, it would get scratched. I'm not saying I dropped my Zen from great heights or anything, but it's still in fairly immaculate condition after traveling through Scotland, Wales, Italy, and London.
But enough of the babble: what you really want are pictures. And as an added bonus, I have decided to illustrate the eternal debate between Creative and Apple in the only way I know how: photos of Pretty Asian Men.
