From Neil Gaiman's blog:

I hope this reaches neil himself. Never have i ever known of anyone as full
of himself as well as shit, than you. Now another milestone in your
over-hyped career, Writing Batman. Not only are you under the impression you
can write, but write batman? Fuck You. You Tried before and it sucked. It
was just gaiman... With Batman in it. Fuck You.

If I'd known that Secret Origins of Batman Villains #1 had made that much of
an impression on people, I would have... actually, probably not done
anything different, really. I was rather fond of it.

If you think you won't like the Batman comic I'll write, probably you'd be
best off not reading it. It'll just be a two part Batman comic, you can save
your money. Although if you'd bother to write me a letter like that you
might buy it just to prove to yourself that you hate it as much as you know
you're going to...

I love angry hostile letters that get publicly outed for being the overly
emotional hindenburgs of logic that they are, and I quite enjoyed Neil's
very calm and rational reply to it.

Remember what your mama said - if you can't say anything nice, don't say
anything at all, with an addendum from auntie saff: "Unless you can cloak it
under the guise of satire, or like what my actual mama said, "Say it
in *Chinese,
*to their face, and by the way, where's the remote control?"

Or what I actually do: complain and bitch about things to my near and dear
ones, and then quickly get over it. I have written a few angry letters in my
time (like anyone's surprised) but they were mostly tinged with humor,
except for that one to Louisa May Alcott. (LAURIE AND AMY ARE SO MADE OF
FAIL, YOU CANNOT BELIEVE.)

And also to the 80s, for inspiring belated, unreasonable surges of
nostalgia. (Say Anything: Yeah, thanks for all the unrealistic expectations
of first love. I will never find a Lloyd Dobler. NEVER. I HATE YOU. WHERE IS
MY PEN.)

so in summary: Stephanie Meyers brings all the lolcats to the yard, D & I
are too damn (I'm the damn, she's not) old for some of the crazy that is JE
fandom. And most of it is uninteresting anyway, which is a bigger failure
than anything else.

For [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714 she knows why: The international bestseller
"Norwegian Wood," written by acclaimed author Haruki Murakami, is being
turned into a movie. First published in Japan in 1987, the book has been
translated into 36 languages. 8.7 million copies have been sold in Japan
alone.

Vietnamese-French director Tran Anh Hung ("I Come With the Rain," "The
Vertical Ray of the Sun") is handling the project, with Asmik Ace's Shinji
Ogawa and Fuji TV's Chihiro
Kameyama<http://www.tokyograph.com/info/chihiro_kameyama>producing.
The cast will be Japanese, and auditions are expected to be held
later this year. Filming is set to start in February 2009, with theatrical
release scheduled for 2010.
