Going to try to keep it easy today, as my house is in shambles and it's a bit like living in a condemned building, only without the rats. That I'm aware of. Oh, home remodeling. The joy.

Meanwhile, have another entry from Japan's golden cinema genre of pure love - which dictates that someone has to die, preferably while looking immensely photogenic. (For my western friends, think Lurlene McDaniel or Nicholas Sparks, except instead of angels, there's cellphones.) This one is an adaptation from a manga, coincidentally by the same mangaka who penned that fantastic literary masterpiece that spawned the Matsujun and Nana Eikura movie.

I'm almost done with the first half of Love Exposure and am debating whether I want to watch the second part tonight, as I have to get up early tomorrow for dim sum in R Heights.

YOKO/MISS SCORPION FOREVER.

ETA: I bit the bullet and holy shit, the ending to Love Exposure and Ninkyo Helper may just be the most bad-ass, emotionally cathartic endings I've seen in recent memory, especially Love Exposure.

You'll be happy to know for a four hour movie, it has a somewhat happy ending. I mean, for four hours?


....I kind of want to watch it again.
