Oh my word, I know I've remarked on it before, but the F4 really are exponentially more attractive this season than they were last. And OGURI SHUN, I was blind to your charms, but really, you're as pretty as all of those JE boys. Pretty and TALL.

I know it's mostly a fashion choice and probably an easy way to define the characters, but the fact that they dress Rui in whites and neutrals while they outfit Domyouji in blacks and primary colors.....ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Ha, were you expecting some indepth meta about significance in coloring? not today!
Such a contrast between the Shigure/Domyouji relationship and the Rui/Makino one - Rui and Makino at least like each other as friends first where Domyouji barely tolerates Shigure's presence - and Makino always makes Rui smile. My poor little shipping heart doesn't know where to look.
*peeks through hands* Rui and Domyouji are breaking up, and even though I'm kind of relishing the angst, I'm also sad because yeah, that's what? 13+ years of friendship and it's all down to a girl? First loves, both of them - well, for Rui, it would be a second love, but I count it as a first love because what he feels for makino is very different to what he felt for Shizuka (IMO).
i remember reading in the official english translation that the mangaka considered Rui and Domyouji to be self-centered characters - Rui in a quiet, introverted way, but just as selfish and self centered as Domyouji is. And I think their love for Makino is bringing out their best and worst sides all at once.

Erm...and that's probably one of the number one reasons why makino should not be with domyouji right now, because he's so volatile and so passionate over her, that it could be very dangerous for her. Rui's the calm before the storm, really.
Ooo...I think Akira's taking Domyouji's side, while Soujiro is on Makino's side. And Japanese football at Eitoku will never stop making me laugh.
Man. Oh. Rui. You confessed and Makino looks troubled. oh my poor sweet boy, this is where it begins. (reading >Lily's translation notes btw)
And then Domyouji goes and smushes my heart further by being all gentle and kind with Susumu. Who's crush on the cute little girl is so adorable. The repeated noogies on the head. Oh, Domyouji!
"Okay, I got it. I'll be back soon." Domyouji's mom as terminator, has never been so appropriate or unintentionally hilarious.
Susumu is a woobie. And that is very pretty stationery. I approve.
This episode is out to kill me, i can tell. Susumu as F4's surrogate little brother, Hanazawa Rui getting all emo with his violin, and Makino's never looked prettier. AND THE BROTHERLY BONDING between Susumu and Domyouji. OH HANADAN.
