and there was this subplot that was making it even longer and was part of the problem in writing it - I had to cut it for my sanity. I was going to have Tsurara hurt in an incident resulting with her association with both Kurosaki and Mimasaka - yakuza + swindling = shady enemies everywhere you look! There was the entire Friday tabloid thing tipping the Japanese underworld off to Mimasaka's little girlfriend and then people would see Kurosaki hanging around and put two and two together and yeah, there was going to be a horrible kidnapping/torture thing.
I was thinking of blinding the poor girl. There was going to be a hospital bed sequence and Kurosaki fighting to get in to see her, because naturally Mimasaka would have sequestered her away in the best private clinic money can buy, and there were going to be tears! confessions! and kneeling!
But then I stopped drinking the soap opera crack, and saved a few bits of the dialogue - that's where 'you belong everywhere' came from initially, and got on with getting them together without too much drama. Writing a conversation where they don't fight? That was hard for me. I mean, I'm thinking of this story as possible beginnings and endings of their relationship, and this future is probably the most mapped out one. Though, future 4 is shaping up pretty interesting as well....
