I'm barely 25 minutes into Halfway (and I think I will go on an Okada Masaki movieathon this Thanksgiving weekend - because yes, I'm thankful for sensitive cute boys) and I'm highly irritated with Kie Kitano's Hiro, because GIRL, YOU ARE TOO CLINGY AND VIOLENT. I realize the 'cutely violent school girl' is just another archetype in Japan's WTF archive, but I'm not seeing why Okada Masaki's Shinozaki would love her. They were thrown together too quickly, and the natural progression has been lost. At this point, I'm hoping Okada runs off with Mizobata Junpei or Naka Riisa because



neither of them will try to strangle him with his own scarf, I think.
