oh darling....
Aug. 23rd, 2003 04:24 pmUm...so I missed the OC last night. I'm sure the three people reading my recaps will be disappointed - but hey! There's a new one next week!
Last night I went over to le chez Paul - and to my delight and consternation - not only did he have his DSL hooked back up...he also contacted some cyclical virus that shut down his computer every 20 minutes...to every 2 hours.
Yeah, good times. I did manage to update his anti-virus so that it destroyed the blaster worm, but the other sucker just wouldn't budge. In the interim, his sister re-dyed my hair (for everyone who voted in the poll, thank you)...and so now I have new fresh red burgundy highlights, several stacks of mix cds for one or two sekrit projects - and we (Paul's sister and I) later ate at Lucille's BBQ house (chicken and string fries. SO GOOD.). Then A (Paul's sister) introduced me to her Paul type, and we all chatted about how awful high-school was.
The times, they are a-changing...apparently my old alma mater is now a hot bed of speed demons and coke freaks. Oh, and your average drinker as well. A's known two students who've died. (not related to drugs, but related to car-speeding...but still...to know kids who die?)
Ah, welcome to Less Than Zero time - if suburban ennui doesn't kill you, the drugs will.
I find it strange that in the span of five years, I've become some sort of role model to A and her friends - as it became apparent last night - I was introduced as "the good girl," merely on the fact that I'm not interested in drugs or most drinks. But I have other addictions, they're just not seen as 'vices'.
( I'm not interested in being your delicate lotus blossom. Now fuck off. )
I'm not particularly good. I'm just me.
