I'm looking forward to the long weekend, namely so I can catch up writing, finally posting about the story of Saiunkoku anime, fantasy manga adaptations casting (that I hope they never actually do, because, I'm kind of all manga-ed out for the moment, but it's fun to come up with more excuses to picspam pretty people!) maybe a couple of blurbs about Serenity: the ultimate edition, and PoTC3 (all purchases I made on Amazon.com, which have not arrived yet)

but before all of that: more Maki-pretty.

See my icon? That's a small detail of the full shot, which is one of 22 portraits in Asami Kiyokawa's photobook. Asami Kiyokawa is a stylist, artist, multimedia craft-cutter and she did the art direction/concepts for the photobook, called Catch the Girl (美女採集 Asami Kiyokawa catch the girl).

There's quite a few familiar faces - Erika Toda, Erika Sawajiri, Juri Ueno, Minami, Yu Kashii, Mao Inoue, Satomi Ishihara, Masami Nagasawa (who is the cover girl), Leah Dizon, etc.

But, oh yes, back to why Amazon.co.jp pwns Amazon.com? I ordered this photobook two days ago, the notice I got said I would receive it on the 21st....

it came today. But then, it's the 21st in Japan.

The only thing I didn't like was paying about 30 dollars for shipping (I didn't pick 2 day shipping, so I don't know if that's the default shipping rate for international orders) but...buy a big enough order, it sort of sorts itself out. Plus, there's a point system, where one point = one yen. I could possibly buy my way to free shipping. Or at least more discounts.
