You know, I get disliking a character. I've even finally figured out why sometimes you can and will dislike a lead character on a show. And I fully embrace loving snark.

Sometimes I think people miss the boat. Or the train. Or this plane of existence.

Note to self: sd-1.net is a crawling nest of vipers.

I think that sacred cow should have been slaughtered long ago, personally...

and when I say cow, I don't mean Lauren, or Whoren or Boren, or whatever cute and fun little nickname you've attached to her.

I love my eyelinered spyho.

Oh, you're not alone in your solidarity. I didn't really care one way or another for Lauren when she was good, but when she went bad? Ooooooo! Spyho, perfect name for her.

You know, I didn't really like her until she was bad. I guess it was because she didn't seem like she had a purpose other than 'being Vaughn's wife'. Now that she does, she seems to be a more full character. What do I know, I'm fickle that way.

And I avoid sd-1 like the plague for the most part. The rabidness gives me a headache.

I think Whoren's kinda catchy. Accompanied by "I'm screwing Sark, lalalala" of course.

you always pick the controversial ones

I've never been to sd-1 but I remember having similar experiences on Yahoo groups and FF.net. The latter had whole threads on character un-appreciation in which characters would be killed and named names and torn apart episode by episode.

I love our dear, abused Lauren. My appreciation made it through the Revelation of Doom so I think I will always like her. As the season gets closer to being done, though, I worry if she'll be back or not.

*picks up mascara and waves even though too much of it can make one look like a raccoon* It's hard being in a fandom and liking a mostly disliked character that is pretty much bashed and name-called up and down the block. I don't mind Lauren and have found her a bit more interesting now that she's turned evil. The red wig rocked, that's all I've got to say. I just wish there were more shades of grey to her character, but I sincerely doubt that the Alias writers are going to let that happen this season.

The nicknames and the nasty attitude I see towards MG just because of what she has supposedly said in an interviews is one of the reasons why I hardly if ever go into the TWOP Alias boards these days and I had to groan once I saw the asterisk nonsense. I had severe Roswell Tess fan flashbacks when I saw that. I used to enjoy the Sark thread there, but the Lauren-hate has spread there too, so bascially, all you can do is write fic for Lauren, enjoy her character for your own enjoyment and forget about everyone else. I see that you've got a Lauren Reed ficathon going on, go you.! :)

Duuuude. You know why I removed [livejournal.com profile] alias_icons from my friendslist?

Every day I would see a post with at least one "COW!" Lauren icon. And then after a while, people got pissed off, so those delightful people would instead preface their posts with "Warning! Lauren Bashing Icons!"

I don't hang at any message boards so I have the fortune of not dealing with as many narrow-minded people (I'm only at LJ). I wave my mascara wand with you.

(BTW, were you running a Lauren ficathon? If so, what exactly is a ficathon and may I participate?)

ficathon help...

sign up for it here (http://www.livejournal.com/users/crushw_eyeliner/231420.html#cutid1)

A ficathon is basically another way fandom messes with your head a little more, as you write an assignment for a character/pairing and you get another story in return. The messing with your head part comes via the deadline of the story - because funnily enough, all the words you've been saving sometimes just don't work with what you eventually get, and you have to start all over and there is lots of anxiety.

I mean, this is what I hear.

*G*

But the rules and the sign up cut off date are there. And yes, you may participate. ;)
