I think that this is going to be an art journal for awhile. I can't seem to write anything without going into deep analytical self-pity (do you define yourself by your job, even if it's a non-existent one?). I have plans, but I'm not going to talk about them for now, because I don't want to jinx anything.

LOvely sketch. I really like how the hand lightly rests on the girls shoulder.

I'm jealous of your talent. The most I can do is doodle. I'm really good with trees. If you ever need a sketch of a tree, I'm your girl ;)

The picture is gorgeous; I love it being a drawing and being drawn at the same time. If this is going to be an art journal for a while I'm going to look forward to your posts. :)

(And on a side note - I remember when I was unemployed last year and it felt like I'd made a horrible mistake in leaving uni and no-one was ever going to employ me and I know it's awful to feel like that. I hope things look up for you really really soon.)

I love it, the drawing of the drawing hands. And you're a kick butt artist. Multi-talented and snarky-you're a haven in the scary world of lj.

Saff, this is gorgeous. The composition itself, not to mention the actual drawing. I'm thinking manga, only I like this better.

I wrote this really, really long thing about not defining yourself by your job, but it was really all. about. me. So I've started over and instead I will just say, as far as I'm concerned, with the amount of talent you have in both writing and drawing, no matter what you're getting paid (or not getting paid) to do, you are an artist. That's how I'm always going to see you. The part where you're a music guru, and my seat mate in the handbasket to special hell, and a clever, funny, all around kick ass goddess and all of that goes without saying. :)

P.S. How much do I love the hair on the short haired girl? It's so textured and HAIR LIKE. When I draw hair it never looks hair like.
