I can not think of another person (that wasn't a politician or religious fundamentalist) that has less of a sense of humor than he does. He's like....the male J.Lo - a legend in his own mind.

I just spent 150 dollars for summer classes, plus I'm working on my own webdomain, so I have evaded the permanent live journal siren song once again. Plus, do you know what 150 dollars could buy you? The cds, the makeup, the car oil changes, movie tickets, the trickles of a savings budget for travel....I just paid for a year so I can do things with my layout and some icons, but that can all wait.

[livejournal.com profile] ragingpixie tagged me to do this, and because I love her and miss her, I will do it.

Fandoms I like: Honestly? I don't like most of the fandoms I love/like shows for, because I always end out of the honeymoon stage incredibly quick - I find refuge in pockets/fringes of fandom. I don't purposely set out to be contrary, I don't always go for the underdog, but sometimes I just don't agree with the general fandom. That said - I liked what I saw of the Farscape fandom, if I stay away from the relentless ship emphasis in Veronica Mars, I like it quite a lot, and I'm hoping to enjoy myself in the Battlestar Galactica fandom, if only to dabble. And I loved Dead Like Me, but it was never the same level of fandom attention like my other shows were.

To write: Even though I can mark the time between actually writing and completing fanfic by the changes in the moon (aren't we due for another eclipse sometime soon, or is that not in my lifetime?) I have written fic in BtVS, Alias, the O.C., Gilmore Girls, Dead Like Me, and I hope to try some Battlestar Galactica and Veronica Mars soon. But I've gotten content in the 'I like the show, I like fic that is like the show, and it better be goddamn good if it's an AU, because if I switch around all the knowledgable characteristics, I might as well be writing original fic.' The exception to this opinion is writing for lesser characters, because there is not as much backstory, and if in the case of Alias - it is a show you no longer like, which is why you're writing fanfiction in the first place because God knows what the hell the writers are writing. No, not annoyed at all, MOVE ALONG.

First fandom:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer. You know what they say about first loves. She was and is my favorite tv character of all, and the show meant a lot to me as I was in high school when it premiered, so we sort of grew together. We lost touch later in the years, but the show was still where I started, met a lot of interesting people, made fun of a lot of scary people, etc.

Most recent fandom:
Battlestar Galactica and Veronica Mars in the states, in the UK: Spaced and Black Books. Oh, and Hex! But that's more guilty pleasure than anything else.

Five Four fandoms that mean a lot to me:
BtVS by association and nostalgia, and because I made and lost friends in it
Dead Like Me - dead before its time ::sob::
Howl's Moving Castle - the book started it all.
Tom is a fandom, and a cottage industry: Um, Tom Mcrae. Because of his music, his personality, his rare public smiles, and just for everything in the past three years.

I watched more Battlestar Galactica last night - and while I no longer want to smack Starbuck around, she's far from being one of my favorite characters. Cally has moved up several notches, and Billy and Dualla continue to make me laugh. Baltar still rules OK. And okay, I know I will get used to Jamie Bamber's voice eventually, but Teija - ditto on the arms. He does have nice arms.
