One of my ex-coworkers saw Neil Gaiman walking down the street toward him, in full Neil regalia - mussy hair, sunglasses and leather jacket. I promptly told him I was incredibly jealous.

In a few weeks, if all goes well, [livejournal.com profile] amezri is coming down to stay with me for our Birthday weekend. All I can say is prepare to be very Asian. I've already staked out a few places in Rowland Heights, there's got to be a dim sum experience, swapmeets, Japanese supermarkets and their delicious, delicious candy, and then possibly Dick Blick's in Pasadena, because I think they carry stuff even Pearl Art doesn't.

I crave egg tarts.

Next week I'm picking up Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows. Actually, I'm borrowing it from work.

I just finished Something Rotten by Jasper Fforde, and have gotten the newest Thursday Next novel.

haha, for some reason the Kinokuniya bookstores in Singapore carry many more English books than Japanese... catering to the local population, i guess! it's actually one of my favourite chain bookstores and i applied for a position there recently... but i might or might not have said the company was "patriarchal" during the interview. eeps.

here's the link to the video:
