I'm working on actual fic with plot too (my massive "Kurosagi" spy!fic AU WIP is stalled at 1 chapter and, er, 6,000+ words, but I am determined to finish it...eventually), but you are right, the crack IS so much more fun. Because for some reason, crazy doesn't involve that much extra brain power.
Maki could take Jin shopping. And they'd play Wii bowling and they'd share stories about Yamapi and make fun of his old hair choices, like that awful orange hair thing from "Dragon Zakura"!
