I'm going to attempt to go to Kinokuniya today, without it taking 3 hours - thank you for last time, Google Maps. Your 'detour' nearly ended up being, "And she was never seen again!" but thanks to my intrepid skills.....eh, I got lost.

I'm excited, the second episode of Sexy Voice and Robo just came out, so I'll watch that tonight. I watched Seito Shokun last night, and right now, my thoughts are thus:

Kanata Hongo is totally the Bad Seed kid.

All of the school kids, with the exception of Maki, are evil spawn - a little militia of zombie children, ready to strike at any moment. I'm thinking Children of the Corn here.

My new boyfriend Yuu Shirota, is a spaz-bot from planet Hot. Seriously, he's a gorgeous looking man (and easily the tallest member of the cast - it's kind of hilarious), but his character is a complete goofball - always running around, playing with sports equipment. He's a big kid!

Outside of one or two unbelievable! moments, this isn't an overtly manga-ified adaptation, and feels to me like what a Japanese school might be really like. You know, outside of the children of the damned, the creepy atmosphere of the background music. But it's less cartoony than Gokusen and GTO. The teacher seems to be a bit of a tomboy, but she just reminds me of all young idealistic teachers - the ones I know, anyway.

So, it looks like it's going to be a straight ahead school drama with no or little romance, which is fine with me - I like good stories. And really, I don't see any opportunities for it - unless Yuu's character stops being a complete spaz for the ESL teacher (btw, what is up with the representation of Japanese english teachers being slutty, er....really flirty, high maintenance women?) and falls for the teacher instead. And of course, the kids, evil spawn - so Maki's getting no love there, either. Though I didn't see the actor from Nobuta in the first episode - maybe he comes in later.

I'm really in love with Nodame Cantabile though - I just downloaded episode 3, and I can't wait to see what happens - this show is so sparkingly bright and funny and totally manga-fied, in the best way possible. And Chiaki and Nodame are clearly an OTP despite themselves and while I would frown at the way Chiaki treats Nodame (in RL, cartoon violence is still obviously violence) and think he's just an arrogant jackass who really needs to GET OVER HIMSELF and root for Mine instead - I'm actually just getting a older brother/indulgent friend vibe from Mine, so.......Chiaki, get over yourself and realize that you need Nodame!

And subs for Yamapi's Operation Love just came out, so I think it'll be a triple feature tonight: Robo, Nodame, and then ProDai.
