I actually downloaded and watched Ep 11 of Last Friends raw a few days back, but I didn't have much to say after the fact (still working through rage issues on episode 10), and it's too hot to form anything coherent this weekend either, so instead, have some pic spam!

Don't they look great in suits?

I wasn't really expecting Ogurin and Eri to get married because I just thought they were the obligatory comic relief/fumbling friends with benefits type, but hey, anything that isn't Sosuke's rampage of horror and deceit?

LOOK HOW TIGHT THEIR PANTS ARE.

This reminded me as a more chaste version of Tanya Chalkin's iconic The Kiss, for some reason.
Anyway, Takeru and Ruka, the OTP that never was!

this just made me laugh.

Its little smooshy face.

Her little smooshy face.

Oh, Takeru.

When he called himself papa, I may have died a little.

awww, baby bubbles!

Seriously, Takeru is going to be the best third parent ever.

What a long strange trip it's been.

and now for something different - I've been watching a lot of movies lately, because it's easier than starting new dramas (and the backlog! eesh.) but here's a few caps from this very charming sports/underdog/young love movie I just watched last night. It reminded me a lot of The Mighty Ducks, in all the best ways possible. Plus, it's Japan, so you know it's going to bring the WTF, in its own unique way.

the little team that could

Random cameo!

Funniest proposal in a mock Thai restaurant, ever

Visual sight gag and another cameo
and then I watched Trick 2.

the LONE TEAR.

There's nothing quite like having a deep emotional reaction and knowing that Yamada-san and Ueda-san are there to care. And to eat your food.

Especially because the food is so delicious!

This is Yuuta Hiraoka and his hat of AWESOME.

Even Maki's stunned by the awesomeness.

because seriously, that hat.

which then ensues the most (pardon the delicious hyperbole) fabulous reunion scene in all of cinema.

There is SLO-MO. TEARS, STREAMING FROM THEIR FACES. EAT THAT, THE NOTEBOOK. TAKE A HIKE, TITANIC.

REUNITED. AND IT FEELS SO GOOD.

Even if you are wearing a tragically stupid looking hat.
next time, a larger recap of "Smile," and the Best Movie about Super Powered Japanese School Girls I Have Ever Seen.
and also?

MAKI IS AFRAID OF COWS.
That is kind of hilarious, because as D wisely pointed out, they're vegetarian, and are not likely to go on a murderous, tot-eating rampage.
OR ARE THEY.
thanks to
nomanymore and taiki from the yamaki forums for subbing the SP on Maki's bicycle adventure!
