[20:27] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: i wish twilight would go away.
[20:27] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: OH MY GOD.
[20:27] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: little girls.
[20:27] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: with the weird creepy vampire thing.
[20:27] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: not that i don't begrudge robert pattinson money enough to keep him in beer and hot pockets.
[20:27] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: yeah, i know.
[20:28] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: but...
[20:28] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: look.
[20:28] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: but ....i need this movie to go away.
[20:28] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: i'm not feeling the vampire thing.
[20:28] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: i can already feel the annoyance setting in. "you just hate it because it's popular."
[20:28] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: NO, I HATE IT BECAUSE IT SUCKS.
[20:28] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: HER PROSE IS AWFUL.
[20:28] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: SOME OF IT ACTIVELY OFFENDS ME.
[20:28] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: i hate that i have to actually explain what it is to people and why i hate it.
[20:29] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: don't make me rationalize my hate.
[20:29] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: and you know what? Maybe I like some bad things actively: see Koizora.
[20:30] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: And then again, maybe I hate some things because they are BAD. see: high waisted jeans, the CW bringing back 90s soap operas.
[20:30] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: i like koizora because it's awful.
[20:30] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: Edward Cullen is a joyless glitter drama queen of fail.
[20:31] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: And I hate that he's some mind-dashingly romantic hero.
[20:31] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: there's this thing somewhere, edward cullen's secret love letters to sarah palin
[20:31] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: and I hate that quite a large number of rational minded young women (and THEIR MOMS) think that this is so.
[20:31] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: oh god.
[20:31] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: so my attending's daughter?
[20:32] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: and of course the crazy people but you can't reason with crazy people (see: people who voted for Sarah Palin because she was their ONLY choice.)
[20:32] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: wants to go to a midnight show
[20:32] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: but it's on a thursday
[20:32] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: and they have school on friday
[20:32] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: and when she said twilight, i had this uncontrollable urge to groan
[20:32] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: so i did
[20:32] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: and I say to them, in my best Jon Stewart voice: fuck y'all.
[20:32] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: and then i had to explain WHY i was groaning
[20:32] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: it consumed almost all of the female staff at borders, when i worked there.
[20:33] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: i was like, "i'm groaning, BECAUSE IT SUCKS."
[20:33] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: it was like they were passing around crack on a spoon and clutching it to their chests and breathlessly going on' OH MY GOD HAVE YOU READ THIS?"
[20:33] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: IT'S NOT GOOD
[20:33] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: and I would say.. NO. AND YOU CAN'T MAKE ME.
[20:33] [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain: my contrary nature acted up and threw salt and shrieked, GET BEHIND ME, DEMON.
[20:33] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: just say no!
[20:34] [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714: a ring of salt around you.

...i love that it's like you guys are having two separate conversations, but magically it'll combine into one whole again. but i think i'm more amused that i've probably seen the same thing in real time at least twice.

...you kids and your hive mind.

so i went shopping at freshia market yesterday and i bought kyochon chicken AND OH MY GOD, clearly, the koreans have got the fried chicken market corner.

Also, my bagger looked like a cute halfie version of Tegoshi.

I will let you know if I see a Massu.

well, I always knew there were bbq joints around that street, but I hadn't heard of kyochon chicken before - and by my workplace, there's a H mart and BBQ chicken -- I just assumed it was all bulgogi and buckwheat noodles and bimibap and such. I know, I'm so remiss.

I tried to find the drink you wrote down for me earlier, but I had no luck. I did get some sparkling green tea though. And Daniel Henney advertises for instant coffee! It made me laugh. Along with Kim tae hee (and her freakishly small head) advertising some kind of health drink.

There was this awesome fried chicken chain I went to in Seoul called two two chicken, or something weirdly cute and nonsensical. It was a magic place where the chicken was FRIED TWICE. Once for deliciousness and the second time, presumably for luck.

Like two swirling red strings of fate (kind of like the "Last Friends" opening credits), man.

[livejournal.com profile] glynnis and I had a similar discussion tonight over dinner about how 'Twilight' JUST SUCKS OK?! It boggles our minds that we have to explain this to people. Sure different tastes and all, but some things are just so legitimately awful, not so bad it's good, just out-and-out horrible that they transcend the differing tastes argument.

Just another piece of proof that the world is going mad.
