Happy Black Friday to those who celebrate it. ^____^ I'm at home in my pajamas, shopping online, because no way would you find me in that crush of humanity right now. Too many retail horror stories, I'm a battle-scarred ex retail monkey, so I will never willingly participate in that melee if I can avoid it.
I spent Thanksgiving at my friend's parents' restaurant, helping them cook for their big Thanksgiving party/dinner, and I brought home two take out boxes full of leftovers. It was my first time helping in a restaurant/and cooking for Thanksgiving (my family usually doesn't celebrate it), so it was a nice experience. I love food, so to help prepare it in a bustling kitchen, wearing a green apron - it was cool. And the food turned out excellent.
Vampire Knight is being turned into an anime, fansubbers everywhere I'm sure are gleeing it up now. I'll definitely check it out once it becomes available, just to see how well it translates into moving frames. I loved the Ouran anime like crack candy, so....
Speaking of which, I plan on putting up bullet reviews for some anime I've loved in the past - I haven't watched very many, and I own even less. Right now I just have some episodes of Cowboy Bebop, two Miyazaki films, the complete Kare Kano, and Grave of the Fireflies on the DVD, and fansubbed videos of Romeo's Blue Skies (based on a German story of the Black Brothers). But you know me and plans - sometimes they work out, sometimes I get distracted by something shiny.
But I'm going to buy
Story of Saiunkoku this weekend, finally. I liked it a lot when I saw fansubs, and Saiunkoku herself is just a blast. And maybe I'll check out this melancholy of haruhi thing.....
