We're all a little gay inside, really.
Jul. 26th, 2006 10:25 pmWho's the next obvious - 'but we're just waiting for him to say something about it' celebrity/pop star to confirm what we always knew? Darren Hayes, check. Lance Bass, check, with a little smiley and gold star beside it.
Did you guys know the lead singer of Judas Priest is gay? I had no idea until I read Chuck Klosterman's Fargo Rock City.
I have more stories about Comic-con, really, but I have got all my days and stuff mixed up, because the old brain pan is just...well, old, and I'd rather upload pictures for you guys to see instead of endlessly rattling on about it. Also, the FL is approximately skip a million at this point - so happy birthday, of course you're hot, you've always been hot, no, I still haven't watched the new series of Dr. Who, You're right, Battle Star Galactica is OMG, I've seen PoTC 2 twice and I have thoughts, but mostly of the 'oooo, swarthy' variety, no, I'm not watching Veronica Mars next season, and I'm in a good place with that, I'm sorry to hear that about your hair, can we still be friends?
The highlights of Comic-con for me were:
Seeing Uncle Neil in person and some footage for Stardust. Surprisingly enough, both Claire Danes and Sienna Miller do not annoy me in it.
Seeing Gerard Butler in person, both from the stage and then waiting a embarrassing two hours for a two minute photo op, and which I don't appear in, as by this time I am a hot steaming mess, and my entire witty repartee consisted of a fervent, "Thank you."
I have been looked upon by the face of GOD, I tell you.
Oh, and Frank Miller is the snarkiest bitch ever and I kind of love him for it.
They played the 300 trailer three times, and each time, GB went and sat down on the stage like a little kid to watch it.
Speaking of which, the writers and producers of The Family Guy/American Dad did the same thing for their sneak peek, and they are quite attractive people.
the funniest panel award goes to the guys at the Adult Swim panel which involved man groping, a chair being thrown, and a man wearing panties over his pants.
The second funniest panel goes to Edgar Wright and Nick Frost presenting hot fuzz - their trailers were the best at Comic-Con, and there were quite a few American Spaced fans representing.
Unexpected awesomeness was the Grudge 2 panel, with Amber Tamblyn, the original director (So sweet and funny and well, little.), and Ariel Kebble (I think that's her name) as the girls seriously geeked out and were very articulate and thoughtful about the questions that were asked of them. Quite a few female questioners at this panel, which was a remarked difference from the other ones I attended, with the cringey exception of the Gerry Fangirl Brigade who came up with "What's your favorite color?"
But my favoritest thing of all was hanging out with Dare, Rebe, and Heather, making us the Quartet of Awesome!
Oh, and some guys named Joss Whedon, Kevin Smith, Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, and Gerard Way were there too.
