Okay.

relatives from seattle are here.

the first thing they've commented on is my weight - as in I gained some.

Uh, no I haven't.

It's taking all of my zen and innate politeness to not throw a big rock at my uncle's head.

Men, they just don't GET it, do they?

Now my mom and aunt are cloistered in the backyard, and the first sentence I hear is my mom complaining about my utter failure in something or other.

Excuse me while I systematically plan my escape from this family gathering.

I wish I could help, man. I know how families are the BEST for pointing out everything that might or might not be and probably isn't actually wrong... while insinuating strongly it is. I don't understand this malevolent instinct! I wish it'd go away so people could just, you know, stick with being unhappy about themselves instead of trying to drag you down too!
