she's a girl, not a shelf
Jul. 17th, 2007 12:21 pmI usually watch an episode of Hanazakari no Kimitachi e a minimum of 4 times (1 time streaming, 1 time raw, 1 time w/soft sub, 1 time w/hard sub). I'm currently downloading episode 3 of Hana Kimi, and it'll take me about 2 hours to finish. Then possibly another 2 hours to compile caps to make my screencap review - for this episode, I'm just doing a screencap review and not a write up, as it's a lot more talky, emo than previous episodes, and my grasp of Japanese as I've said before, is nil. Not that I can't do the out of context crackvision (and there are funny scenes), but with this episode, it's going to be a little more difficult. They're starting to hit their emotional stride now, I think, and the characters are getting more fleshed out.
So, for this summer drama season, I've been enjoying: Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (big love), Coffee Prince (I'm anxiously waiting for ep 5 to be available for download), and Why Why Love (Episode 8 needs to be released on VCD/stream). Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese - I've covered all my bases, whereas in the spring quarter - I was watching (and loving) Seito Shokun! (started slow, got better fast mid way) Sexy Voice and Robo. I gave up on Propose Daisakusen, Bambino!, Witch Yoo Hee.
Shows I have a wait and see policy on - Love & Farm, First Kiss (I downloaded the first episode, and while Inoue Mao-chan is absolutely stunning in it, and the production values are gorgeous, I'm getting a mixed vibe from it. It's probably better with subs.), and Thank You, the kdrama that was a sleeper hit and ended up kicking Witch Yoo Hee's ass in the ratings.
ETA: I snagged episode 3 of HK, and episode 5 of Coffee Prince. I expect to have the screencap review of HK up late tonight.
