My thoughts on Alias are summed up as follows:

Dude, Lauren's pretty. I mean, she was looking really good tonight. That being evil sure agrees with her.

Sark - incredibly hot. Damn you, David Anders.

There are lines that Lauren won't cross - and shades of her former 'rule abiding' personality from the earlier episodes showed up tonight. She obviously thought that just kidnapping the children was enough, but actually inflicting harm on them was not part of her agenda. She also didn't want the Inferno interrogation to take place on Sark - partly because he'd implicate her, and partly when she said, "America does not use torture as a negotiation tactic (paraphrase)..I got that same bright eyed belief vibe I got from her when she was with that annoying NSC guy from earlier and he was asking her to write a report about they had used fair tactics in interrogating Sydney. I think Lauren's cup of tea is mental/emotional games, not so much for physical torture and sadism...

Funny how Lauren and Sark have their own twisted kind of loyalty. Hmmm....Sark's a bit of a sociopath, isn't he? And I was right! He is amused by her, and intrigued at the lines she's drawn for herself. I took the "Not if I see you first, love" as a double entendre - first you have the standard British endearment, flirt angle...but also that implied threat. Not if I see you first. Ah yes, my evil OTP. Guns and knives at each other by the end of the season....

I predict Senator Reed is going to die. Lauren's definitely not happy with him, and her turning the tables on him to help out Dixon neatly fulfilled Sark's requirements that there be no interference, but also kept her in cover with the happy spy gang. That bit was a nice double agent scam, unlike the increasingly annoying calling from the CIA office trick. That phone has to be tracer free or cloned, or something, right?

next week: Lauren returns to black eyeliner and black leather all over, must mean she's gearing up for Super Evil, and Sark does more phone sex!

Oh, and Sydney wears a really, really bad wig.

ETA: Hey....is that WEISS?

I did like Lauren's hesitation with the torture of Sark but when I interpreted it as a form of caring for his wellbeing, I didn't like it so much. I wanted it to be like you said - her own personally drawn lines - because (finally!) here was something that was grounding her, making her more humane and realistic. But the eternal 'shipper in me immediately interpreted it as she protecting Sark and then it was different. I don't want them to care for each other; I like the games, I like the sex and the play. I'm not a fan of any lovey scenarios (primarily because Sark doesn't do love and girlfriends [see all of Jo's rants from the Allison fiasco last year]).

And what a sneaky minx with all that helping-Dixon-but-really-securing-package-transfer stuff. Very clever.

And Sark at the exchange? guh. Good ol' sunglasses/leather Sark. Never fails to floor me. (Hurry up, BT download! I need my caps!)

welll.....

I was thinking of when he was talking to Lauren about Dixon and being his old cocky bastard self, and she snapped at him - and then he teased her/amused by her feelings. It's not really caring as in, 'OH, MY HEART CANNOT BEAT WITHOUT YOU, MY WATCH DOESN'T KEEP TIME WHEN YOU'RE OUT OF THE ROOM' kind of caring, but as in watching each other's backs...all the better to find out where the knife goes.

The mind game is still on, mark my words.
