A lot of "Ugly American" (TM) stereotypical behavior flying around in those letters.

Personally, I think we need more voter education at home, especially the young - it's not the older voters we need to worry about (they actually go to the polls and vote), its the college-aged demographic.

Especially regarding propositions - that's where the voter guide comes in handy. It's not just the presidential election, but the state-wide reforms.

The Republican party has been calling my house repeatedly, even though I'm a registered Democrat and the only one in the house that actually votes. Let me just say, hearing Arnold Schwarzenegger on the other side of the receiver urging me to support the Republican Party is all kinds of freaky.

Compare those letters with the letters from prominent British citizens. I actually teared up reading those. Because I believe in that America too.

That was...interesting to read. I can understand them being annoyed at the intrusion, but talk about over-reacting! I quite liked the person who thought that encouraging people to vote makes you worse than the Taliban. Heh.

I'm rather confused about all the "Limey" and "bad teeth" comments though...

You know, standard propaganda comments. Plus, it's all that Mike Meyer's fault - him and his pandering Austin Powers movies.

*grins*

American arrogance and hatred too much on display in those letters. America (and those in a universal sense Americans) are simply despised. Here we just gave a foreign country and its citizens more support for their feelings of fear and anger towards us. *sigh*

I hate this 'screw everyone not from the U.S.' attitude that so many Americans seem to have. There's so much anger (and frankly, this type of anger? Ignorant) in this country right now. So much knee jerking.

I'm as anti-Bush as you can get, and I'm ashamed with how our country is viewed by the rest of the world. However, I actually agree that this is a bad idea. I don't think that something from another country will sway any voters, and in fact, many Americans are so stubborn this might sway them the other way. It's a nice sentiment though.

damn, no one ever calls my house asking for my vote. Maybe they know that there's no way in hell I would vote for either Bush or Kerry. Nader all the way! Hearing the Governator on the phone had to be odd, though. I can't watch any of his movies anymore without cracking up now or feeling extremely uncomfortable.
