sorry if this is all disjointed and not in chronological order - the drugs, your honor, the drugs.
So that shoots down my Hanazawa Rui as romantic stalker theory - he just called her and the paramedics picked up. How....normal and mundane. Still, I was right about Tsukushi's mom Potential Son In Law lightbulb going off.
The morning after scene with him holding her hand is still a thousand kinds of adorable with subs - and he's so concerned. Oh, Hanazawa Rui!
So Domyouji was being Domyouji and he's actually at fault and not Kaede? No wonder the guilt is making him do stupid things.
Rui almost confessed right there to Akira & Shoujiro, and while it's refreshing to see him being so straightforward and determined, it is a little jarring how suddenly he's not as emotionally astute to Tsukasa as he has been - while Shoujiro is very mindful of Tsukasa's feelings. And Akira just wants everyone to get along.
Which brings me to his conversation with Shizuka - him asking if it's possible to be making adult decisions concerning marriage and Shizuka saying there is only compromise and being selfish and self-centered...that Rui is taking the latter option - he wants Makino and he's going to get her, despite his friendship with Tsukasa. It's totally life-changing, and challenging to the f4, even more so than the first series, because that incident was a ploy to get Domyouji and Makino to realize their feelings for each other - I don't think a girl has ever come between the friendship, the brotherhood between these boys. Akira and Shoujiro always have interchangeable flings, while Rui had his unrequited love/hero worship of Shizuka, and Domyouji had no one except the F4. And then here comes Makino.....
oh, the fic ideas. Go away bunnies, go away! I'm ill and I can't write you!
Matsumoto Jun saying, "You know?" and giggling is ridiculously adorkable.
When he's in the hotel room with Shigure, I noticed the little statue behind him - it's of a man being dragged by a bull/pig - and I keep thinking, how remarkably foreshadowing of the relationship with Shigure - she's dragging him forward, whether he likes it or not.
I continue to die a million little squee filled deaths everytime Rui ducks and kisses Makino on the forehead and then pets her head, fondly, like she's his little neko-chan.
And Yuki continuing to tell everything to Shoujiro and then getting really, really emotional about how it's not fair and selfish of Domyouji to expect Makino to wait for him after a year...methinks the poor girl was doing a little projecting there. And Soujiro being all dark and mysterious and "love is irrational and love is only worth it if you're willing to die for the person" and basically crazy hot.
So it is Sara. She's so wholesome and smiley! So not like all his other tarts and tramps!
Oh, Soujiro, it was the love of a good woman that broke you, wasn't it? But now Yuki can fix you again!
I seem to remember a subplot/standalone personal sketch in the manga that had Akira realizing with a pang that he quite likes Makino, and if she wasn't Domyouji's girlfriend.......man, everyone loves Makino. AND WHO CAN BLAME THEM, REALLY. I heart her.
Not as much as Rui, and the look on his face when he hears Domyouji's voice. Ohhhhhhhh, Hanazawa Rui. Oh, Domyouji with your bittersweet figs and hearts and that was really quite eloquent and lovely and not at all baka of you...until the cookies comment. But then that's you, all over.
I cannot freaking wait for next Friday.
