I was watching Asahi TV yesterday afternoon - or it could have been NTV, I forget which channel precisely (considering my lack of nihongo skillz and all) but it was a preview show for upcoming films, and I saw the trailer for My Girlfriend is A Cyborg (and I always feel like there should be a parenthetical remark immediately after - 'and it's okay') and I don't know if it's just the mood I've been in lately, but it looked quite funny and something I would really like to watch. Ayase Haruka and Koide Keisuke are the stars.

Yes, it's from the South Korean director responsible for My Sassy Girl, but it's an all Japanese film. There's been quite a lot of Japanese/Other Asian Countries collaborations, like the upcoming Stephen Chow produced/officially blessed Shaolin Girl, which is not a true sequel to Shaolin Soccer (though I preferred Kung Fu Hustle) starring Kou Shibasaki.
Yesterday was a lovely, lazy day. I watched Oceans' 12 and after eating a really good plate of BBQ from Lucilles, fell asleep before starting 3 Times, a film by Hou Hsiao-Hsien. I'll probably watch it again today, followed by a chaser of 2046 (I first saw it in London, three years ago, but I was sick from Scottish flu at the time, so a lot of my memories of that film are formed by seeing clips of it on Youtube, but now I finally own it.) And the soundtrack is fantastic, as they tend to be for Wong Kar Wai's films.
ETA: this is hilarious, in true WTH, Japan way:
American/current it girl in Japan Leah Dizon being taught guitar by Marty Friedman (former Megadeath guitarist, now ex-pat living in Tokyo)
JAY CHOU. THEY NAME DROP JAY CHOU. Music is truly the universal thread! Jay Chou is COMING FOR YOU, Justin Timberlake. SLEEP WITH ONE EYE OPEN.

Ahaha, Cyborg-Girlfriend. I laughed at the bench scene. Well, it's better than being in love with something like...a toaster ..or a blender. How awkward would THAT be? After all, Japan is pretty ahead in things like technology and androids - so who knows? ;3
Shaolin Girl looks interesting, but I don't understand what's going on. XD
it's lacrosse and burning things. Two great
