Gossip guy Ed Westwick and Bond girl Gemma Arterton are taking on the classic roles of Heathcliff and Cathy in the latest adaptation of Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Arterton replaces Natalie Portman in the role, who pulled out earlier this year. Peter Webber directs.

I have told you about my all consuming hatred for Wuthering Heights, right? Not even Daniel Day-Lewis could make me warm my heart to the story.

and I concur. I don't care for any of the Brontes, really, but Wuthering Heights is just the icing on the overrated cake. I can't think of another literary couple I absolutely despise more ....oh, Rhett Butler and Scarlett O Hara. That'd be a close second.
