The less said about my life currently the better, but at least fandom remembers to keep me happy (and this is the fandom lj, after all.)
Why I'm still PISSED at the producers and screenwriter of Kurosagi: The Movie(WASTE OF TIME), because they totally squandered THIS, THIS COMPLETE ADORABLENESS for the sake of putting Yamapi in a few hundred terrible wigs 'disguises'. YOU TOTALLY FAILED THAT TIME, JAPAN. (Don't think I haven't FORGOTTEN.)
and also:

NEW FACE OF ROMANCE.
My standards? They have completely gone on holiday - because when I actively look forward to how awful Koishite Akuma is going to be, and yet, I rub my hands in glee in anticipation? You know I have no standards left.
There might be fic, guys. I KNOW I AM TOTALLY HORRIFIED.

Date: 2009-07-21 11:17 am (UTC)I saw a semi truck yesterday that was advertising Koishite Akuma. It made me think of you. I wanted to take a picture of it, but my hands were full and I couldn't reach my camera in time. I'm highly amused that there might be fic from this drama coming soon.
emo teenage vampires make you think of me?
Date: 2009-07-22 03:43 am (UTC)You paid good money to see that in the theater? And I know tickets aren't exactly cheap either, unless you went on a special Woman's day or something.
D:
It was a horrifying Eureka moment, really, when I realized I couldn't fend off the fanged fic bunnies anymore. Even so, though, I have other stuff I need to finish first (stuff I'm actually proud of admitting</em to!)
Only if they're Japanese...
Date: 2009-07-22 04:21 am (UTC)I went on a Wednesday, so it was almost half price, but I still paid 1,000 yen. I did pay full price when I saw HYD, but that was worth it.
It's best not to fight it. Once you get it out, then you can focus on the other stuff you need to finish.

Date: 2009-07-21 03:01 pm (UTC)I really REALLY want to watch Koishite Akuma, because of all the lulz, but is it subbed yet? I haven't been able to find it, but that's probably because I fail at life.
I would read it!!
boycott it, boycott it good
Date: 2009-07-22 03:45 am (UTC)I'm just bitter that they made Maki do all those promotions with him and it's like, OH BY THE WAY, SHE'S ONLY IN THIS MOVIE FOR MAYBE TEN MINUTES.
it's a TWO HOUR SOMETHING MOVIE. That's NUTS.
TimeLessSubs is hardsubbing it, but they haven't released it to the internets at large yet. If you aren't aware of the controversy/or don't care - dramacrazy.net is offering it on their site.
Re: boycott it, boycott it good
Date: 2009-07-22 04:03 am (UTC)*sigh* Epic fail Japan, epic fail. I adore Yamapi, but really, the whole reason I'm watching Kurosagi (other than to stare at him. A lot...) is for the amazing chemistry between him and Maki.
Ohhh, a controversy?! How interesting. I didn't know. Good to know about the streaming ones. I might have to wait though, because my hated of streaming videos is vast.
Re: boycott it, boycott it good
Date: 2009-07-22 04:27 am (UTC)But yes. Kurosagi is just a tease, when you think about it.

Date: 2009-07-22 04:28 am (UTC)the reason yamapi and maki are still (and forever) OTP in my eyes?
Date: 2009-07-21 07:32 pm (UTC)***
He has an affair with every girl he co-stars with; that's the rumor that persists in her ear at every turn when she's cast for the role of Nobuta. Watch out for Yamashita Tomohisa, he'll charm your eyes and then break your heart.
Be careful, Horikita-san, Kamenashi tells her politely, if a little stiffly, during the first few weeks of filming. She smiles wryly.
I'm stronger than Nobuta, she says.
I'm holding you to that, he says.
They remain close all throughout the rest of filming, but Yamashita hardly talks to her, barely looks at her off camera. He talks about school--when she initiates conversations--and smiles at her cheerfully--when they're filming promotion appearances--but that's it. He doesn't make a move.
Maybe she's a little disappointed as the series wraps up and no more promotional appearances are scheduled. (It's not like she sings, she thinks. It's not like they're friends, she thinks.) And then she shakes her head of the notion. Really, she should be glad. Her heart is in tact, just like she wanted.
Maybe she just wanted to prove that she was stronger than Nobuta. That's it.
(But Nobuta was never afraid to love Akira and Shuuji.)
***
Filming is tense the first few weeks. He doesn't like Kamenashi much and Horikita always regards him with a cheerful smile, but wary eyes. He wonders if she's heard the rumors; he almost hopes so. That makes it more interesting. But filming can't go on this way--Shuuji, Akira, and Nobuta need the kind of chemistry beyond the cameras.
Kamenashi approaches him first, a few weeks into filming. Filming isn't going to work if we dislike each other, he says. Water under the bridge? He isn't quite sure what he means, but he does understand the significance of Kamenashi's hand extended toward his. They shake on it.
And, oh yeah, Kamenashi says in mid-shake, Don't touch her, Yamashita.
Who? Kamenashi's hand tightens around his.
She's too young, Yamashita, please. Promise me.
They release and he sighs. Fine, fine. I won't touch Horikita.
Kamenashi smiles, perhaps the first smile he has ever seen that isn't tinged with irony. He wonders if it has something to do with Horikita. (But she's too young, he mind protests.)
*
True to his word, he leaves Horikita alone for the duration of the drama, opting to perfect his lines by himself and joining them only for meals and scenes. Horikita always approaches him first, usually with a spare napkin or an extra pair of chopsticks, because he's prone to forgetting either. He thanks her, and they talk idly about school or work. He can feel Kamenashi's eyes watching them carefully.
(He wonders if he's jealous.)
True to his word, he doesn't make a move. His own conscience--it's sounding a little bit more like Kamenashi everyday--continues to chant too young, too young like a mantra in his head. So he doesn't feel something, anything, nothing. And he's fine with it. There's always the next drama season, after all.
This alone quiets Kamenashi's voice in his head.
(He wonders if he's jealous.)
Re: the reason yamapi and maki are still (and forever) OTP in my eyes?
Date: 2009-07-21 07:33 pm (UTC)He finds he can't use the same excuse anymore, not during Kurosagi. Horikita is no longer just a young girl. Instead, the Kame-like voice in his head chants, but now she's just a friend, just a friend. If even that.
But it comes true over the course of filming, and somehow, he becomes afraid of losing something.
He calls her Maki-chan. And in turn, she smiles with glittering eyes and says, Yamashita-kun.
(He's afraid of losing this.)
*
Filming ends and he has no excuse to see her anymore; he has her number, but has no excuse to call her. She surprises him with a call months later, as the leaves begin to fall.
Yamashita-kun, I heard about your role in Byakkotai. Congratulations! her cheerful voice echoes in his ear. It takes him a moment, but his lips curl as he replies, Oh. Thanks, Maki-chan. How are you?
They talk for hours, about school and work and this and that and he thinks that yes, he's missed this, so achingly and desperately missed this.
Ah, I have to go now. But, can you promise me something, Yamashita-kun?
Anything.
Of course.
Don't touch Meisa-chan. Please.
(And then he realizes: he's already lost.)

Date: 2009-07-21 08:59 pm (UTC)Hopefully Japan can make up for Kuro movie...soon...
Feeling nostalgic eh?
and next thing you know, you'd be writing drabbles about sparkly stalking vampires...As much as I dread anything vampire other than VK, (Oh Twilight, why did you ruin the vampire genre for me?) I MIGHT watch this for the pretty boy you screen capped up there...
As always, I look forward to the fic...I still need to finish reading your Atadan fics and comment on them...>_>;
I probably would have enjoyed it more
Date: 2009-07-22 04:00 am (UTC)OH SNAP.
I am feeling nostalgic for the time when the yamalame didn't annoy me and I miss liking him - like, really liking him. These days, nothing he does seems to interest me anymore. I wonder if my Yamapi love was really just a projection of how much I adored Akira from NWP.
Vampires are the OLD new Black!
And twilight is so sucky I can't even make fun of it because it's too easy. Koishite Akuma on the other hand - is just INSANE.
He's only fifteen, Mimi. REMEMBER THAT.
