Did you ever get the feeling that there was a post in the back of your mind, hovering like an anxious butterfly, and on the wings of it you'd written all your best thoughts, the ones you'd never share unless you were talking to your best friend - and (s)he could decipher all the blank spaces in between your words?

And instead of that, you drank from the bucket of shallow and decided that green and yellow socks were in fact, a valid fashion choice (if not on this plane of existence, somewhere else). I've been feeling that way about posting lately - even though it's my journal and I write primarily for myself, I sometimes feel that I'm not entertaining enough, I'm not intelligent enough for my readers (to presume I have readers).

So, as the dedicated follower of fashion I am - I'm cribbing from [livejournal.com profile] wisteria_ and [livejournal.com profile] saava lurker/unlurk/re-acquaintance survey/poll spirit.

Tell me how you really feel, I welcome it.

I realize that icons are a common gateway - but what's the staying power?

[Poll #154951]

Make that four questions about *this* LJ, and six questions about yourself.

5. What's your name, or alias, if you prefer.
6. What's your favorite thing about LJ, and your least favorite thing about LJ?
7. 10 spaces, yo. What the hell is up with that icon limit?
8. If you could be someone else...firstly, would you - secondly, who would you be?
9. Music is a part of my being. Everyone has their Elvis Costello, Leonard Cohen, Tori Amos, REM, the Beatles - I have all these but mostly I have Tom Mcrae. What author/musician/anyone changed your life or impacted it in some fashion - inspiring you to create (whether it's art, music, or writing)?
10. Do you have what it takes to be America's Next Top Supermodel?

I'm sorry, that was a FAKE question. You know, much like the 'news-conference/report' about Miss Spears' virginity and the apparent lack of it.

the Real Number Ten -

10. What's your sign, and do you believe this is accurate?

5. rebe
6. good - knowing what my friends are up to; bad - it's way too easy to fritter away all the time I should spend writing
7. The icon limit is evil. But even if I had 20, I'd probably be talking about how it's not enough.
8. I'd like to try out being someone else temporarily. I'm not sure who. I would have said Kate, but young Kate... Mostly I'd want to be fictional characters I think. Somebody strong, and witty, and fabulous *g* Or if I were going to be noble I'd become George W. or Cheny or someone, so I could renounce the Republican party and reverse everything he's done and reveal the vast right-wing conspiracy. :)
9. This is a hard question because I think there are a lot of writers that have made me want to write. There's no one person that crystallized it; I just always knew this is what I would do. I'll say two things, both recent, both of which made me say to myself...this is exactly what I want to write. Jim Munroe when I read Flyboy Action Figure Comes With Gasmask and when I saw Bringing up Baby. In terms of music, I don't know about changed my life but if there's one band I can't imagine living without it's The Waterboys. I found them in 6th grade, and their music was there for me during the hard time when I was living out of the country. And I continue to love their new albums as they come out today.
10. Taurus. It's somewhat accurate I guess. I don't know all the characteristics. I can be stubborn. But I can also be really passive (and/or passive agressive) so I don't know how that fits in.
