1. What the hell is this song that I put on this mix cd? I've never heard it before in my life...well, now I have, obviously...but...what the hell IS IT? I have Keane, Clearlake, Orishas, Buena Vista Social Club, Clinic on this cd, so I can't go by genre to help me figure out what it is. (ahem. Is Fischerspooner.)

[livejournal.com profile] morgaine22, I think I also found the version of Somewhere Only We Know that you first told me about - it's more acoustic, and I have another version, live at Maida Vale.

2. I vastly prefer the 1968 version of Romeo & Juliet to Baz Luhrman's version. Poor Leo Whiting, he didn't age well.

3. Mmmm, watched the last half of the Oscars. I have to say, I was toying with the thought of what would have happened if Keisha Castle-Hughes won? *g*

4. Hey, is Diego Luna in this month's GQ (the one with Angelina Jolie on the cover?) Could someone please check their issue for me? This is just so I don't go on a mad chase looking for it....

*cough* Research *cough*

5. The guy who plays Adam on Joan of Arcadia really reminds me of a young John Cusack. I think it's his nose or just the shape of his face. I'm not looking for a Lloyd Dobler, version 2.0 or anything...I'm just sayin.

Bands, songs I've been listening to for the past two months

I will love you FOREVAH. The Poets will have to write big long epics about our Love, yo.

THere was another song that I found in my ss travels called "Wind through the trees" or something equally bizarre, but the guy had it remotely remotely queued, and then he disappeared.

*sigh*

certainly.

er...far as i can tell, "Wind Through the Trees" is an Ed Harcourt song, not Tom.

Well, good thing I didn't download it, and suffer the five second disappointment that it wasn't Tom...but Ed instead. Not that I don't like Ed...

We watched the 1968 version of Romeo and Juliet in my 9th grade English class and when the teacher left the room at one point, some moron rewinded the tape back to the naked parts. Look! It's Romeo's butt! Look! It's Juliet topless! Haha. And something completely off-topic, I love your icon.

ext_7396: mafalda, from the comic strip by argentinian quino. (buffy - feeling good)

Hee. I don't like either. I find the Zeffirelli version boring and the Luhrman version just completely awkward. :-)

Mmmm, watched the last half of the Oscars. I have to say, I was toying with the thought of what would have happened if Keisha Castle-Hughes won?

Oh, I thought that too, and figured it would be just like when Anna Paquin won for "The Piano", only with a bigger proportions, as Keisha was up for the leading role award. But it would have been fun. :)

And I love it that there's people in your band list that I've never heard of, but now I'm gonna happily go look for :)

just so you know

I do not know if he's in GQ, however, T and I saw Havana yesterday and have decided that Diego is Very Very Pretty. We understand your appreciation.

And the kid from Joan of Arcadia? It's the mouth and the chin. Mostly the mouth-hanging-slightly-open Lloyd Dobler look. He's cute. And because I've said that, he's probably 12.

Nay....he's 19...or something.

Feel free to crush on him.

*G*

And si, Diego is very, very, very pretty.

*sighs wistfully*

Verily, my love is tied in with shame, but eh, life is too short - and DVDS are forever.

i was thinking that very same thing of christopher marquette. he really does have the same facial shape and everything, and he pulls off a very similar wounded/clueless/unabashedly sweet thing just like john cusack.

and i agree with you on #2. i love claire danes and all, but olivia hussey made a much more believable juliet.
