updated my flickr with my brand new wedding hair:



Despite the coloring, my hair in real life is a bright shade of pink. Rest assured, my dress and my shoes are classic, pastel shades of pink and mauve. This is post-MAC make over as well, though I did swipe most of my lipstick off and took off the false lashes (have to perfect them tomorrow), so it is possible to come out of MAC with a next to natural looking face...and not as Bunny "Glitter" Adams, pole dancing diva.

Clothes shopping was a nightmare, so was glad that when I went into MAC, got unexpected compliments (even if it was really a sales pitch - the makeup artist liked my skin and my lips)

Now. off to clear off the battleground - exfoliating bath scrubs and feet soak.

okay, the 411 on the hair thing

usually i do dye my hair myself, but since it was for a wedding, I went all out....and went into a beauty school to get it dyed for cheaper than if I went to a salon. Basically because my hair is so black naturally, they had to do a process bleach on it, mixing various levels of bleach and toner (level 20 and 40 respectively on different parts of the hair/root) in order to lift the previous color (purple) off so i could get some hint of hot pink in. Asian hair is nearly indestructible, as one night before the first day of class in high school, I slept with a bleach cap on ...my hair had bleach in it and I wrapped a plastic bag around my head and went to bed. Next day, I rinsed it out - not only did my scalp not burn off, my hair didn't fall out either - and I went to school with blue hair to go with my skirt (there's a theme here). Not that over bleaching is recommended or safe. ;)

Now I use hot oil treatments and really intense conditioners to get my hair shiny and soft (because the bleaching has pretty much fucked up the texture to straw). The flash was on my camera too, so that might have added to the shiny effect of my hair.

I went for white streaks the last time I went to the salon and my hair in front burned off. I've been dying my hair black for 10 years now and would love to try reds and purples, but I don't think it will happen. Damn your indestructable hair! *shakes fist*

they do have them in nearly every color of the rainbow now, and while costly, it saves your own hair from bleach abuse...and ouch, burning off.

They cost a lot and I might hate them. Then I'm stuck with them. Maybe someday. :/
