I watched Yunho's drama Heading to the Ground and ....wow. This is why no one from TVXQ's been in a 'real' drama before.

Bless him, he tries.

But CRAZY EYES.

I imagine Jaejoong and Micky would have a drinking game during this.

"Who wins? Yunho's unlucky in love yet bravely fighting on rookie soccer player, or Jaejoong's MAGIC POSTMAN?"

Oh TVXQ. Just sing, and sing pretty and forget to wear shirts from time to time. Okay? It's good to excel at that.

ETA: Maki is going to be in a drama SP with EVIL-SAMA. The JE embargo seems to be over. I am infinitely curious to see them as siblings (AND NO, NOT IN THAT WAY.)

So I'm getting over a mild case of OMGWHYDOIFEELSOAWFULANDCRAMPYIWANTTODIEANDORVOMIT, while watching the mercury climb here in Southern California, but a few fevers and nosebleeds aside, I'm almost back to normal.

Have downloaded the subbed version of Smile, will watch it later - I'm going to watch L: Change the World in a few. [livejournal.com profile] fivethreerin, I got the little postcard saying that I need to pick up your package at the post office! Which I will be doing so tomorrow, full of DELIGHT and joy.

Also got a surprise tee-shirt from [livejournal.com profile] kitsune714, because the hivemind likes to be dressed in snappy tees at all times, naturally.

Jun Matsumoto and Yui Aragaki will co-star in a new TBS drama series titled "Smile." Takayuki Takuma ("Hana Yori Dango") is handling the script, though he is using his real name rather than his usual pen name of Mikio Satake.

Matsumoto plays a half-Filipino whose father has died and mother has disappeared. Despite his misfortune and the issues he deals with, such as race, he lives his life positively with a constant smile.

Similarly, Aragaki plays a young woman living cheerfully despite losing her ability to speak due to an accident. Her character is said to be modeled after a real actress in the theatrical troupe that Takuma runs.

The supporting cast includes Kiichi Nakai as a lawyer who watches over Matsumoto and Aragaki.

"Smile" will air on Friday nights at 10:00pm, starting in April.

and for Zettai Kareshi fans:

Fuji TV's live-action "Zettai Kareshi" series is coming back for a special episode. Based on the manga by Yuu Watase, the series originally aired from April to June 2008.

The special, titled "Zettai Kareshi ~Kanzen Muketsu no Koibito Robot~," is set after the end of the series. Mocomichi Hayami will reprise his role as the robot Night (Naito) Tenjo, along with co-stars Saki Aibu and Hiro Mizushima. The cast will have a couple of additions, with Ryoko Kuninaka playing a brilliant scientist and Asahi Uchida playing her assistant.

Fuji TV will broadcast the episode this spring.

TEAM ROBOTO!

watch the second clip

I have never been so shippy for Domyouji/Makino, and then I watched that, and it was like...well, now.

Also, Evil-sama's incredible odd attractiveness (a lure, really) continues to hit me over the head like a frozen haddock.

Oh, Evil-sama. ILU.

*or was that "Change it all?" It doesn't matter. Still LOVE.

I'm still going through the notes I scribbled down to help me not forget key moments of the Miyavi show (and man, I'm a dork), and I also got his concert DVD (just to see what the full on extravaganza was and what got taken out of the US performances) and anyway, the little concert writeup should post this weekend. However, there's a part that needs a little explanation....

Also, besides the concert DVD, I picked up the recent issue of 25 ans, with Tamaki Hiroshi and Meisa Kuroki on the cover, because HI YOU'RE VERY PRETTY. Also, belated scans from Invitation magazine with evil-sama, Masami, and Abe Hiroshi.

super prom couple! )

I have also been wasting time on youtube as per usual - there's Abe Hiroshi with a chimp, Abe Hiroshi in this Thai movie that uses no special fx/wire/or stand in stunt men for the stars, everything you see in the trailer is actually happening, the absolute WIN of Shimura Zoo: the premise is that Japanese celebrities go to far flung places (or not so far) to hang out with/take care of an animal. This could never happen in America, because PETA'd protest them along with the Humane Society. However, this is Japan.

My favorite regular is Becky, because she is an anime (the non annoying kind) heroine in human form, and because she gets on so well with animals. And also, I've just come to the conclusion that I really just like her - she's funny and she does an awesome impersonation of Yankumi.

Becky with a spring...hare?

Becky with the Very Fat Cat

Becky with Koalas

Aya Ueto with a baby panda named Mew

Aoki with otters in Okinawa

Just click around, and there's tons of clips. There's a famous one with Becky living with red pandas, and Anna Tsuchiya hanging out with black rhinos, and of course the sight of Aiba from Arashi fleeing/shrieking from animals big and small is always fun.

Becky goes out with Miyavi on White Day. THANK YOU, JAPAN.

Oh. I'm lost, I burn, I pine.

Sometimes I'm not so sure that I love evil-sama so much as I want to be him.

::cue creepy music::

Oh Matsujun. You're such a rockstar. Bless you, you can't sing very well (but do people really listen to JE 90% of the time for the music, or for the amazing production values and sheer mindwtfery?), but damn, you put on a show.

There is a bedazzled Popeye logo shirt, pink and blue half and half stage costume, A GIANT BALLOON and I shouldn't love a man who wears culottes, BUT I DO.
